☑️ Storage Instruction

Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Give it a good stir before serving since the dressing may settle at the bottom.

Freezer: Freezing is not recommended because the fresh vegetables lose their crisp texture when thawed.

🍴 What to Serve with Greek Coleslaw

💡 Tips

  • Slice the red onion very thin. Thick pieces overpower the salad and make the texture harsh instead of balanced.
  • Add the feta last and fold gently. This keeps the crumbles from breaking down.
  • Taste after chilling, not before. The olives and feta release salt as it rests, which changes the final flavor.
  • If the slaw looks dry before serving, add one small spoon of dressing and toss again. Cabbage absorbs liquid as it sits.
  • Keep mint finely chopped and evenly scattered. Big pieces create uneven flavor.
  • Serve very cold for the best texture and brightness.

🔄 Substitutions and Additions

  • Protein: Add grilled chicken or shrimp to turn this into a light main dish.
  • Tomatoes: Stir in a handful of cherry tomatoes for extra color and sweetness.
  • Herbs: Swap mint for fresh parsley or dill for a slightly different herbal note.
  • Crunch: Sprinkle in toasted sunflower seeds or pine nuts for gentle crunch.
  • Radishes: Add thin sliced radishes for a peppery bite and bright color.

Can I Make Greek Coleslaw Ahead of Time?

Yes. Making it a few hours early helps the flavors blend and keeps serving simple.

Can I Use Whole Cabbage Instead of Packaged Mix?

Absolutely. Slice green or purple cabbage very thin for the same texture.

Why is There Extra Liquid in the Bowl after Chilling?

Fresh vegetables release moisture over time. Simply toss again before serving.

How Long Can This Slaw Sit Out?

Even though it does not have mayo, because it has fresh vegetables and feta, it’s best to keep it chilled when not serving.
