There are many recipes you come across that just need bread crumbs. That can be a huge challenge if you're on a low carb diet because traditional bread crumbs have entirely too many carbs.
That's the beauty of this recipe! Bread crumbs made with almond flour and pork rinds give you all the crunchiness you're looking for without the guilt from excessive carbs.
But are you ready for the best part of these Keto Bread Crumbs? No baking is required! Yep, you heard that right, all you do is combine and stir and they're ready to use.

How to Make Keto Bread Crumbs
Add all of the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor.
Mix till they are finely ground.
And just like that your Keto breadcrumbs are ready to use! Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Variations for Keto Bread Crumbs:
- For a crunchier breading, omit the oat fiber and substitute with more pork rinds.
- For Italian seasoned breading, add ½ teaspoon dried basil and dried oregano.
- To add a smoky flavor, add 1 teaspoon smoked paprika.
- To add some heat, add ¼ - ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper or homemade Cajun Seasoning.
- If you don't like pork rinds, substitute with more parmesan cheese. But trust me when I tell you, the flavor of the pork rinds is not noticeable when mixed with the other ingredients.
- If you don't have oat fiber, substitute with more parmesan cheese. This will change the texture some but they will still taste delish.
Recipes Using Keto Breading and Gluten Free Bread Crumbs
As you can see from this recipe, just because you're on Keto or a low carb diet, doesn't mean you have to give up all your favorite recipes that have breading or use breadcrumbs. With a few substitutions, you can have great breading results with a lot fewer carbs!
Here are some of my favorite recipes that use different variations of Keto Bread Crumbs:
- Bang Bang Shrimp
- Eggplant Parmesan
- Chicken Milanese
- Fried Chicken Tenders
- Parmesan Chicken
- Eggplant Fries
- Fried Green Tomatoes
- Fried Dill Pickles
Can You Make Keto Bread Crumbs Without A Food Processor?
If you don't have a food processor, you can just place the pork rinds in a freezer bag and smash them up finely with a rolling pin or the smooth side of a meat tenderizer or mallet.
Do Panko Crumbs Have Carbs?
Yes, they have far too many carbs for Keto, but there's another great option you can use. You can buy pork rind crumbs, which have a similar texture and are sold as pork panko.
The other option for not using a food processor is using a box grater to grate the parmesan cheese. It's super easy and only takes a few minutes.
Can I Have Bread Crumbs on Keto?
Traditional bread crumbs have too many carbs, but you can add this Keto substitute for bread crumbs to your recipes without the guilt! Use these Keto breadcrumbs for chicken, fish, shrimp, pork, you name it!
Can I Freeze Gluten Free Bread Crumbs?
Absolutely! You can freeze these left over Keto bread crumbs easily up to a couple a couple of months as long as they are stored in an air tight container.
What is Oat Fiber? Is Oat Fiber Keto?
Oat Fiber is made from grinding the outer husks of oats. How healthy is oat fiber? It's pure insoluble fiber, which doesn't dissolve in water and isn't broken down in the digestive tract, so it has zero net carbs and is perfect for a Keto Diet. It helps give a more traditional texture and that's why I use it so often. Check out all the Keto Oat Fiber Recipes you can make!
What is a Substitute for Oat Fiber?
To get the best results, it's best to use oat fiber if you can. If you're unable to find it, try a combination of psyllium husk powder and coconut flour. Since both are very absorbent, you might have to add more liquid.

Hey Julianne , I'm loving your recipes I've tried so far I'm wanting to make the bang bang cauliflower .... is there a way of swapping thy pork rind for something else?
I just can't stand the taste of them, maybe it was just the ones I've tried but it has put me off.
thanks in advance

In a lot of recipes, you can use a little almond flour instead of pork panko. But, for this recipe, you really need it for the texture. You can always use some of my braided herb bread or any keto bread to make breadcrumbs.

I love your site. I just went through so many recipes and save as a PIN. I went to my folder to review them and print out some I wanted to start and none of them were there. So I went and tried to save just one and even though it said saved it did not. Could there be something wrong on the site because I have saved other pins from other sites. I don't want to lose these on this site.
Any help would be appreciated.
