    • Tender juicy chicken
    • Zesty lime and garlic
    • Tajin infused marinade
    • Grilled to perfection
    • Easy to make, with a handful of ingredients
    • Serve with your favorite side or sliced over a salad

If you're looking for a summer grilling recipe that checks every box, Grilled Tajin Chicken is it. That lime and garlic marinade, infused with Tajin, adds just the right amount of tang and and smoky flavor. It smells incredible on the grill and tastes even better.

I like to serve this chicken with a simple side of cauliflower, grilled veggies, or chop it up over a big fresh salad. It’s bright, bold, and so easy to make. And once you try it, you're going to want to keep a bottle of Tajin on hand all the time.

If you love this grilled chicken recipe, be sure to check out two of my other favorites, Grilled Chicken with Rosemary Glaze and Thai Red Curry Coconut Grilled Chicken. Both are easy to make and full of flavor for summer grilling.

🛒 Ingredients for Grilled Tajin Chicken

    • Chicken breasts: Sliced in half to make thinner cutlets that grill quickly and evenly.
    • Fresh lime juice: Adds tangy brightness and tenderizes the chicken.
    • Olive oil: Helps the marinade coat the chicken and keeps it juicy.
    • Garlic cloves, grated: Adds bold, savory depth without overpowering.
    • Tajin Clásico Seasoning: The star of the show, bringing chili, lime, and salt in perfect balance.
    • Lime zest: Packs in even more citrus flavor.
    • Salt: Enhances all the other flavors in the marinade.
    • Fresh cilantro for garnish, optional: Adds a pop of green and fresh flavor.

    ☑️ Storage Instructions

    • Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
    • Freezer: You can also freeze this grilled chicken for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge.

🍴 What to Serve with Tajin Chicken

You can serve this chicken over a fresh garden salad or over a bed of Lime Cilantro Cauliflower Rice or this Coconut Lime Cauliflower Rice. You can also serve it with just about any easy side dish like these one of these:

    • Shredded Brussels Sprouts
    • Creamed Spinach
    • Grilled Broccolini
    • Green Beans Almondine
    • Cheesy Mashed Cauliflower

    💡 Tips

    • Pound thicker parts of the chicken to even out the cutlets for even grilling.
    • Use fresh lime juice, not bottled, for the best flavor.
    • Marinate for at least an hour but no longer than four to keep the chicken tender.
    • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing so the juices stay in.
    • A meat thermometer is your best friend here; you’re looking for 165°F.
    • Clean and oil your grill grates before cooking to prevent sticking.

    🔄 Substitutions and Additions

Chicken: Swap chicken breasts for boneless thighs for a slightly richer result.

Paprika: Add a pinch of smoked paprika to the marinade for extra depth.

Honey: Stir in a tablespoon of sugar-free honey if you like a touch of sweetness.

Garnishes: Garnish with chopped scallions or red onion for crunch and color.

Topping: Serve with a drizzle of crema or Greek yogurt mixed with lime.

Can I Freeze This in the Marinade to Prep Ahead?

Yes, mix everything together and freeze it right away. Thaw in the fridge before grilling.

How Can I Tell When the Chicken is Ready to Flip?

It should lift easily from the grill. If it’s sticking, give it another minute before turning.

    Is Tajin Spicy?

Tajin has very mild heat. It’s more tangy and salty than hot, so most people do not find it spicy at all when mixed with other ingredients in a marinade.

Is This Recipe Good for Meal Prep?

Absolutely. Grill, slice, and store for salads, bowls, or wraps for the next few days.

What if I Want to Cook it Indoors Without a Grill?

A cast iron skillet works well. Just avoid crowding the pan so you still get a good sear.
