cutting board with pickles honey olives cheese spread and jam

Add the olives, cornichons (a fancy word for baby pickles), sugar free honey, jam and whipped cream cheese in small ceramic cups spaced apart around the board.

Tips for Making the Best Charcuterie Board

    • Avoid placing wet items directing on the charcuterie board. Have little bowls handy to use. They not only add interest to the board, but they also keep things like pickles and olives, from leaking onto other items.
    • As easy as it is to just put a block of cheese on the board, it’s best to stick to a soft cheese, small cubes of cheese or slices of cheese. You don’t want someone having to lean over the board with a knife trying to slice pieces of cheese.
    • When thinking of size of foods, think of everything in bite-sized portions. As a general rule, every item on your board should be able to fit on a cracker.
    • You will always have items on your board that run out quicker than other items, so have extra ingredients on hand to replenish the board as needed.
    • If you run completely out of a certain item, you can just simply rearrange the board throughout the gathering to fill in the empty spots.

What Should be on a Charcuterie Platter?

The ultimate decision is really a personal preference but for a well-balanced and beautiful charcuterie board, you should think of three things: flavors, textures and colors.

    • Flavors: For the best combination of flavors, you should have sweet, tart and savory choices.
    • Textures: To create the ideal textures on a snack board, you want soft items like cheeses along with chewy items like meats. Add in some crunchy items like nuts or fresh veggies. You also want to include a creamy dip and juicy items like berries or other fruit to create a wide array of different textures.
    • Colors: Everyone knows you eat with your eyes first. Colorful berries and beautiful cold cuts make a gorgeous foundation for any charcuterie board. But if you really want to add pretty pops of color, try using springs of fresh mint, rosemary or basil. They will make the board smell amazing too.

How Do you Eat Brie Cheese Keto?

Brie is a super popular cheese for charcuterie boards. And while it is a great choice of cheese for Keto you may struggle with ways to serve it.

For the best low carb options, you could serve it with a salad, fresh celery sticks or cucumber slices. Homemade Keto Crackers or even spread over these Keto Italian Bread Sticks or this Gluten-free Focaccia Bread are other sure ways to cure your snack cravings.

Can You Eat Charcuterie on Keto?

Sure, you can! But just like anything else, you have to make sure all the ingredients are sugar-free and Keto friendly. The great thing about a charcuterie board is the main two items is meat and cheese, which are perfectly fine to enjoy on Keto.

Make sure that when you're adding dips and spreads to your board, you read the labels or make them yourself so you'll know every ingredient included.

Can You Have Hummus on Keto?

Hummus is always a popular item to add to a snack board. But regular hummus is usually made with chickpeas that drive the carb count way up. If you want a great low carb alternative that will satisfy your hummus cravings, try this Roasted Red Pepper Cauliflower Hummus.
