How to Make Pumpkin Spice Keto Bulletproof Coffee

Add all the ingredients to a blender safe for hot liquids and blend away! You can also use an immersion blender if you’d like.

Optional: whip cream and ground cinnamon.

What is Bulletproof Coffee (BPC)?

I’ve always been a coffee drinker and I typically used flavored coffee and flavored creamer.  Since I transitioned to Keto, my coffee has also transitioned to BPC.  Bulletproof coffee typically has 1-3 different healthy fats added to it, such as grass-fed butter, heavy whipping cream, coconut or MCT oil and even collagen peptides.

You can also add some type of flavoring extract, flavored stevia drops or other sugar-free sweetener, It all depends on which you prefer. It’s very filling, so it takes the place of my first meal of the day.

An article by Perfect Keto explains: “Bulletproof coffee was formulated by Dave Asprey, an entrepreneur, businessman and author from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Asprey describes himself as a professional biohacker. Dave took a trip to Tibet where he discovered the transformative powers of yak butter tea. When Dave returned home he wanted to recreate the tea’s power. He experimented with blending hot coffee with healthy saturated fats like grass-fed butter or ghee and MCT Oil.

He quickly realized this morning latte increased his energy, stabilized his blood sugar, and improved his cognitive function and mental clarity. He started sharing his butter coffee creation with his Silicon Valley community and the rest was history. A cult-like following of bulletproof coffee drinkers were born and the trend has been climbing upwards ever since.

When you drink bulletproof coffee you are combining the superpowers of the coffee bean with the superpowers of grass-fed butter and MCT oil for a a super-charged, high-fat, high-performance latte.  Coffee beans are packed with essential B vitamins, antioxidants and phytonutrients.

There is plenty of evidence to suggest drinking coffee can suppress hunger, improve brain function and mood, provide energy and raise metabolism to burn more fat.”  Click here to read more on the Perfect Keto site…

Since it’s pumpkin season, in addition to the HWC, grass-fed butter and  MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) Oil Powder that I mentioned earlier, I’ve added pumpkin puree (not to be confused with pumpkin pie filling) as well as my homemade pumpkin pie spice mix.

I also use my new favorite version of Swerve,Brown Swerve, which tastes, feels and smells just like real brown sugar!  I highly recommended it and since I’ve discovered it, I’ve been working on several new recipes using it.  My most recent is Asian Glazed Salmon, which is divine!

The MCT Oil Powder that I use is made by Perfect Keto.  I’ve used MCT Oil in my BPC for a while, but once I tried the MCT Oil Powder there was no turning back!  You get all the same benefits, without the oil slick in your coffee!  MCTs are your body’s preferred source of energy.

MCTs are quickly metabolized into ketones, shuttling energy to your body. MCTs are a clean, fast-acting energy source for the body and brain, and supports:  Sustained energy levels, without crashes, Cognition and mental clarity, Proper metabolic function and Proper cellular function.  Click here to read more about the benefits of MCT Oil Powder on the Perfect Keto site!
