    This Nutella protein shake is perfect for satisfying those chocolate cravings in the most delicious (and healthy) way. It all starts with my homemade sugar-free Nutella, which adds a rich hazelnut flavor and takes every sip to whole new level. If you haven’t tried this Nutella yet, you’re in for a real treat!

    It’s blended with low-carb ice cream, a scoop of protein powder, and a few other simple ingredients. The result is a protein-packed shake that's sweet, cool, and ultra-creamy. You can enjoy it as a satisfying afternoon snack, breakfast on the go, or a post-workout pick-me-up. It's SO refreshing!

    Add all of the ingredients to your blender bowl.

    Pulse until well blended.

    Here’s a fun idea for serving: swirl some Nutella around the inside of the glass before pouring the shake in. It gives it even more Nutella flavor, but also makes a pretty presentation.

    You can also top with homemade whip cream, some chopped hazelnuts and a drizzle of Nutella.

    ☑️ Storage Instructions

    Because ice cream melts, you'll want to serve this shake immediately after preparing it. If you want to whip one up before your work out, you can stick in the freezer for a little while, then give it another quick blend before serving.

    💡 Tips for Making Keto Milkshake

    • If you have not used liquid Stevia, be sure to add a little at a time and taste as you go. You can always add more if needed, but you can't take it out once it's in!
    • For an extra frosty shake, chill your glasses in the freezer for a few minutes before serving. This also helps keep the shake colder for longer.
    • To ensure you keep things low-carb, always read the label on your ice cream to make sure there’s no added sugar.
    • If you're adding whipped cream, chopped hazelnuts, or an extra drizzle of Nutella, do it just before serving to maintain the prettiest presentation.
    • Start blending at a low speed to combine the ingredients, then increase to high speed to get a smooth, creamy consistency without over-blending. Over-blending can make the shake too thin and affect its texture.

    🔄 Substitutions and Additions

    • Milk options Swap unsweetened almond or cashew milk with unsweetened coconut milk for a slightly tropical twist while keeping it keto-friendly.
    • Protein powder: Replace vanilla protein powder with chocolate protein powder for an extra chocolatey flavor.
    • Low-carb ice cream: Instead of store-bought ice cream, you can use homemade Coffee Chip Ice Cream or Chocolate Ice Cream.
    • Espresso or coffee: Add a shot of espresso or a few tablespoons of cold brew coffee to create a mocha-flavored protein shake.
    • Collagen powder: Include a scoop of collagen powder for an extra dose of protein and added benefits for skin, hair, and nails without altering the flavor.
    • Chia seeds: Sprinkle in a teaspoon of chia seeds to boost fiber content and add a subtle, nutty flavor.
    • Sugar-free chocolate chips: Mix in a handful of sugar-free chocolate chips for added crunch and bursts of chocolate in every sip.
    • Flavor extracts: Add a drop of hazelnut, almond, or vanilla extract to enhance the nutty flavor of the shake even more.

    Can I Have Milk on Keto?

    Traditional cow's milk is not the best option for those following Keto, because it contains a good amount of sugar and almost 12 grams of carbs in just one cup! That takes up a lot of your carb allowance for an entire day.

    The great news is there are several awesome options to choose from. Unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, and even macadamia milk can be used in equal amounts in almost any recipe that calls for regular milk.

    Can I Make this Shake Without a Blender?

    A blender is ideal for achieving a smooth and creamy consistency, you can use a whisk and blend it by hand or use an emulsion blender.

    Is This Shake Kid-Friendly?

    Absolutely! This shake can be a great treat for kids who are following a low-carb or keto diet. It's creamy and chocolatey, which kids love, and you can adjust the sweetness level to suit their tastes. Just make sure the protein powder is suitable for their age group.

    Can I Use This Recipe to Make Popsicles?

    Yes, you can, but I would recommend cutting back a little on the milk. Just pour the blended shake mixture into popsicle molds and stick in the freezer for a few hours.
