I’ll take chicken wings just about any way, but Buffalo sauce can be a little too spicy for the kids. That’s just one of the things I love most about these family-friendly garlic parmesan wings. They’re crispy, rich with garlicky butter, and coated in finely grated parmesan that clings to every bite. Even the pickiest eaters go for seconds.

Plus, can we just talk about how easy the air fryer makes things, especially during the summer when it’s too hot for frying or heating up the oven. With this recipe, you still get that crave-worthy crispiness everyone loves. Whether it’s for an appetizer or a meal with an easy side, these wings are always a favorite.

🔪 How to Make Keto Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer

Pat the wings dry and place in the basket of your air fryer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you will likely need to cook them in 2 batches.

9 raw chicken wings in air fryer basket

Bake at 400°F for 25-35 minutes or until crispy. Cooking times could vary, depending on how large your wings are.

While the wings are cooking, add melt the butter in a saucepan over medium low heat.

Add in the garlic and sauté for about 15-20 seconds, careful not to brown it.  Remove from the heat and stir in the parsley, red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese.

Once the wings are cooked, pour them into a large mixing bowl.  Pour the garlic butter sauce over the top and toss them to coat.

Remove the wings from the bowl and place on a platter or straight on your plate.

Now, here’s where the extra flavor comes in! Take the garlic butter sauce that’s left in the bowl and serve on the side of the wings. Top with a sprinkling of fresh parsley and more parmesan cheese.

I added red pepper flakes to these Parmesan Wings because I prefer the little added kick of heat, but if you’re preparing this for the kiddos, you may want to leave them off.

☑️ Storage Instructions

Fridge: Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Reheat: To keep them crispy, reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for about 5–7 minutes.

Freezer: These wings are best fresh, but you can freeze them for up to 2 months. Let them cool completely before freezing, then reheat straight from frozen in the air fryer until hot and crispy.

🍴 What to Serve with Garlic Parm Wings

These garlicky wings are great as a low carb appetizer, but you can also make them your main protein for dinner and serve with any number of sides including:

💡 Tips

It doesn’t get much easier than air frying Keto parmesan wings. But, there are a few things you can do to make sure they are perfect every time:

  • Make sure you start off with really dry wings. Dab them off with paper towels before putting them in the air fryer. This helps them to get extra crispy while cooking.
  • If you’re in a crunch for time, you can get them already broken down into drums and wings. This is a huge time saver!
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket. Give the wings space so the hot air can circulate and crisp them evenly.
  • Toss the wings while they’re hot so they soak up all that buttery, cheesy goodness.
  • Save the tips of the wings when you cut them off. I freeze them in a bag, then add them in when I make my chicken stock, because they help add great flavor!

🔄 Substitutions and Additions

  • Switch the cheese: Try asiago or Romano for a sharper bite, or even a blend of Italian hard cheeses.
  • Lemon: Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a touch of zest to the butter sauce for a subtle hit of brightness.
  • Smoky: Stir in a bit of smoked paprika or a dash of chipotle powder for a richer, more layered flavor.
  • Spice: Add a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce into the butter before tossing.
  • Herbs: Mix in fresh chives or basil at the end for a different herb twist.

Can You Cook Frozen Wings in the Air Fryer?

While it is certainly possible to cook these Keto chicken wings from frozen by adding about 6-10 additional minutes of cooking time, I recommend cooking them thawed to ensure even cooking through and through.

How Do I Know When the Wings are Fully Cooked?

Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of the wing. It should read 165°F, but cooking a bit past that is fine since wings have more fat and stay juicy.

Why Aren’t My Wings Getting Crispy?

Make sure they’re completely dry before cooking, and don’t overcrowd the basket. Air needs to circulate around each piece.

Can I Bake These Wings Instead of Using an Air Fryer?

Yes. Bake on a wire rack over a sheet pan at 425°F for 40-45 minutes, flipping once halfway through.

Is This Recipe Spicy?

It has just a little kick from the red pepper flakes. You can leave them out or add more depending on your heat preference.

    1. Yes, you sure can! I would bake them on a baking sheet lined with a wire rack for 35-40 minutes or until cooked through @425°F. Baking time will depend on the size of your wings. If they’re on the larger side, they could take closer to 45 minutes.

  1. Confused on Real Carb count, 2 different counts on net carbs. are posted on recipes and information. When net carbs are posted have you adjusted the count for the alcohol sugars?
    Thanks, Bren

    1. I am not sure what you’re asking. I always encourage people to add the ingredients into their own tracker because carbs in brands of ingredients may vary. For this recipe, there is one net carb per serving of these wings. I hope that helps.
