I prefer to make all my own sauces, spice mixes and dressings whenever possible. That way I know exactly what goes into them and I can also adjust the flavors according to my own personal preference. And the great thing about this Keto Buffalo sauce is you can do the same.
Making your own buffalo wing sauce is incredibly easy and takes just a few minutes!
You can use this homemade buffalo wing sauce on Crispy Air Fryer Buffalo Wings, Buffalo Chicken Tenders, Buffalo Cauliflower "Mac & Cheese" or even use it in my Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe!
What's in Buffalo Wing Sauce
- Frank's Red Hot Sauce
- Unsalted grass-fed butter
- Worcestershire sauce
- Cayenne pepper

How to Make your own Keto Buffalo Sauce
Add the butter to a saucepan and melt over medium heat.
Once melted, add the remaining sauce ingredients and whisk.
Simmer for a couple of minutes, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
This sauce is so delicious in so many recipes, you'll want to make a double batch. You can store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container, for at least a couple of weeks or longer.
Can I Eat Buffalo Sauce on Keto?
Traditional store bought buffalo is typically non recommended for those on Keto. It's usually made using canola oil and has other inflammatory ingredients.
But by making your own, grass fed butter takes the place of canola oil making this a perfectly healthy and Keto friendly sauce.
Tips for Making the Best Keto Buffalo Sauce
One tip that's most important anytime you are considering what a good Keto version of a recipe is, is to read the labels of all ingredients you use to make the recipe.
For instance, some hot sauces actually contain sugar. Franks Hot Sauce is Keto friendly and has really great flavor.
Another key to having the perfect Keto Buffalo sauce is to cater the amount of heat to your personal preference. If you like it a little milder, you may decide to leave out the Cheyenne pepper all together or use less than what's called for.
If you want a little bit more smoky flavor, you can add a little smoked paprika.

Homemade Buffalo Wing Sauce
- ½ cup hot sauce (I use Frank's Red Hot Sauce)
- ¼ cup unsalted grass-fed butter
- ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Pinch of salt
- Add the butter to a saucepan and melt over medium heat.
- Once melted, add the remaining sauce ingredients and whisk. Simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Serve with chicken wings, chicken tenders or use in my Buffalo Chicken Dip! Store in the fridge in an airtight jar.
