🔪 How to Make Cheese Stuffed Italian Sausage

Preheat oven to 385°F.

5 italian sausage links with slits cut down the centers

Take each link of Italian sausage and slice them down the center.  Do not cut all the way through to the bottoms and make sure to keep the ends in tact.

Tip: As they bake, the sausages will open up more and the cheese will be exposed, but won’t completely ooze out all over the pan.

Place the mozzarella sticks inside each sausage link, nestling it inside, while leaving a small amount of the cheese peaking through.

In a 9 x 9 baking dish sprayed with nonstick spray, spread most of the marinara sauce on the bottom.

Place the sausages on top of the marinara sauce and bake uncovered for 40 minutes or until they reach a temperature of at least 160°F when checked with an instant read thermometer.

Allow to cool slightly before serving with the remaining marinara sauce over the tops.

How Do I Store Stuffed Sausages?

This stuffed Italian sausage can last in the fridge for 3-4 days when stored in an airtight container.  You can also freeze it for up to a few months.

To reheat, thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat slowly in a saucepan over medium heat.
