This is one of my absolute favorite dips!  It takes under 5 minutes to make and is incredibly easy.  You can use this in a Burrito Bowl, tacos, eat with Homemade Cheese Crisps or pork rinds and much more!  There are more great ideas for using guacamole further down in this post.

The main ingredient is avocado, which is a quintessential Keto super food! They have so many health benefits and are loaded with Vitamin E, read more about them in this article.

What’s in Homemade Guacamole

  • Avocados (I use Haas)
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Onion
  • Cilantro
  • Lime juice
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Guacamole

Add all the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor.

Pulse until well combined, but not pureed, so there is still a little texture.

Serve immediately.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of days.

What is the Mexican dip guacamole made of?

Guacamole typically contains avocado, onion, cilantro and lime.  Some versions contain tomatoes, garlic, cayenne pepper, jalapeño peppers, hot sauce and/or cumin.

Can guacamole just be avocado?

While avocado is certainly the star ingredient, you do need some to add some other flavors to make it guacamole.

What do you put guacamole on Keto?

There are number of ways to use guacamole, here are just a few ideas:

  • Eat with Keto tortilla chips
  • Add a dollop in Taco Salad
  • Spread some on a piece of Keto friendly toast
  • Use to make deviled eggs
  • Eat with sticks of cucumber, zucchini, carrots or celery
  • Add a scoop into a Burrito Bowl

Easy Guacamole

Ingredients
 

  • 3 small avocados, I use Haas
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add all the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor.  Pulse until well combined, but not pureed, so there is still a little texture.
  • Store in an airtight jar for a few days in the fridge.

      I don’t have an exact measurement because it will depend on the size of your avocados, but I’d say close to 1/3 cup or so. It’s basically 1/4th of the recipe.
