🔪 How to Bake Chicken Wings in the Oven
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Add the 2 tablespoons of the ranch seasoning to a small mixing bowl and reserve the other tablespoon for later. Add in the garlic powder and baking powder, then whisk to combine.
Tip: The baking powder helps to crisp up the skin.
Add the chicken wings to a large mixing bowl and drizzle the olive oil over the top.
Toss to combine, then pour the seasoning mixture over the top.
Toss again, making sure all the pieces are coated in the seasoning.
Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with a wire rack and aluminum foil.
Tip: The aluminum foil helps make cleanup a little easier.
Bake for 20 minutes. Flip them over bake another 15 minutes.
Remove the wings from the oven. Flip them back over, brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining ranch seasoning.
Tip: This last step can be skipped, but it really helps add more flavor to the ranch wings, so I highly recommend it.
Bake for another 5-7 minutes or until crispy and golden.
What Dipping Sauce Goes with These Wings?
These wings are so flavorful, you can serve them just as they are, or with one of these tasty sauces:

Can I Eat Chicken Wings on Keto?
Chicken wings are high in protein and have very low to no carbohydrates, making them a great option for those on Keto. The main thing to keep in mind is to always use sugar free, Keto-friendly sauces or seasonings when preparing them.
Ranch Wings Recipe Variations and Add-ins
- Spicy kick: Add a little bit of heat to the ranch seasoning by adding in a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
- Honey glazed: For a sweet and savory combination, drizzle your baked ranch chicken wings with a little sugar free honey. The flavor combination is amazing.
- Lemon ranch: Add a pop of citrus flavor to your wings by grating some lemon zest into the ranch seasoning.
- Garlic parmesan: If you love these Garlic Parmesan Air Fried Wings, you can give this recipe the flavor. Just toss your baked ranch chicken wings in a mixture of grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried Italian herbs.
- Cajun spice: Give your wings a bit of a Cajun flair by adding a pinch of this Cajun Spice Mix to the ranch seasoning.
Can I Use Store-bought Ranch Seasoning Mix Instead of Making My Own?
Store-bought ranch seasoning mixes often contain additives and unwanted preservatives like maltodextrin that prolongs shelf life. Making your own with wholesome ingredients, you're able to skip the extra carbs and added sugar.
Can I Use Baking Powder on Keto?
While it is true that baking powder has a few carbs, for this recipe you use two teaspoons for the entire batch of wings. That amount has about 2.6 grams of carbs. However, those carbs are divided out between the 6 servings, so the carb impact is very minimal.
Why Are My Baked Chicken Wings Soggy?
If you're having trouble getting the skin on your bake wings to crisp up, here are some simple tips that will help:
- Pat the wings dry: Before seasoning the wings, make sure to pat them dry with a paper towel. Moisture is the main reason the skin turns out soggy.
- Always cook on high heat: Preheat your oven to a high temperature, 425°F is recommended. The hot oven helps to create a crispy outside while keeping the meat juicy on the inside.
- Bake elevated: Baking on a rack allows the heat to circulate evenly around the wings, which results in a crispier skin.
- Lightly oil: A little bit of oil helps the browning process. Just be careful not to use too much oil because it can make the wings greasy instead of crispy.
- Give them a flip: Even though you cook them on a rack, flipping them will give them that golden-brown color on both sides.
- Don't skip the baking powder: This is an essential ingredient to getting perfect crispy skin.
