How to Make White Chocolate Keto Fat Bombs
Add the raw cacao butter to a heatproof bowl and microwave for about 60 seconds, or until it has melted.
The amount of time it takes, will depend on how small your cacao is broken up. Start with 20 seconds, remove the bowl, stir and continue to heat in 20 second increments thereafter, until it has fully melted.
Alternatively, you can use a double boiler instead of a microwave.
Whisk in the mascarpone, Swerve confectioners, heavy cream and vanilla. If the mixture isn't fully incorporated, you can microwave for 10-20 seconds and mix again.
Once everything is well combined, mix in the chopped macadamia nuts.
Pour into fat bomb molds or silicone muffin pan and freeze for 1-2 hours, or until they have solidified.
You can store them in the fridge, but they'll keep better in the freezer.
When you're ready to eat one, just set it out of the freezer for a few minutes to thaw and you will have a delicious macadamia chocolate fat bomb for a quick snack or easy and tasty dessert.
What is Cacao Butter Made From?
I use raw cacao butter in this recipe, which comes from cacao beans that grow on the Theobroma cacao tree. This is also where chocolate and cocoa powder come from.
When cacao beans are cold pressed, you can end up with raw cacao powder, cacao nibs and the pure oils of the beans: cacao butter. These oils solidify at room temperature, like coconut oil does and is just loaded with healthy fats.
This makes it perfect for the Keto diet and a great option to add to your Bulletproof Coffee! Who doesn't want a little creamy chocolatey flavor in their BPC!?
Are Macadamia Nuts Keto?
Most definitely! In fact because they are so high in fat and low in carbs, they're actually one of the best low carb nuts! They contain iron, copper, manganese and B vitamins. You can read more about the healthy benefits of Macadamia nuts in this article.
How Many Carbs in Macadamia Nuts?
Are you ready for this? One cup of macadamia nuts has a whopping 102 grams of fat and only 7 net carbs! They are a quintessential Keto superfood!
Why Eat Keto Fat Bombs?
A Ketogenic Diet consists of a high amount of fat, moderate protein and low carbs, so the bulk of our calories come from healthy fats. If we don't consume enough healthy fat, we run the risk of following a high protein diet which is not Keto.
Some people struggle with this concept, since we're been told for many years that fat is bad and we should eat low/no fat. Nothing could be further from the truth!
These fats can include butter, heavy cream, coconut and coconut oil, avocados and avocado oil, mascarpone cheese, olive oil, cream cheese to name a few. For a more comprehensive list of these foods, see my Keto Foods List! For different ideas on how to use them , check out 15 Ways to Add More Fats into Your Keto Diet.
Most fat bombs can double as a sweet treat. Who doesn't love a bite of something sweet, without having to make an entire cake, pie or batch of cupcakes!?
Are There Carbs in Fat Bombs?
The carbs in fat bombs come from the other ingredients you add to the fat you're using. So, depending on what flavor you make, you may have a few carbs to take into account. Because fat bombs are usually bite size, the carb count should be relatively low.
