How to Broil Lobster Tails

For me, it is hard to beat broiled lobster! They remain moist and tender without drying out or becoming rubbery. To broil, take each lobster tail and using kitchen shears, cut the top of the shell all the way to the tail.

Open up the shell to reveal the lobster meat, then carefully separate the lobster meal from the shell.

Tips for Buying Lobster

Other Ways to Cook Lobster Tails

Broiled lobster tails are such a great way to bring out the best flavor in lobster, but there are many ways to cook it, so experiment some with other ways!

Grilled: This a super fun and super quick way of cooking lobster tail. Place the lobster tails, meat side up on the grill. Cook them covered, with medium heat for 10-12 minutes or until meat is becomes opaque in color.

Boiled: Add thawed lobster tails in boiling water with some Keto friendly seafood seasoning. The amount of time you boil them depends on the size of the tails. You can use the below as a boiling guide:

  • 6-7 oz. tails – 5-6 minutes
  • 8-10 oz. tails – 6-8 minutes
  • 16-20 oz. tails- 10 minutes
  • 20-24 oz. tails 10-12 minutes

Baked: Bake lobster much the same way you broil it, just at a lower temperature for a little bit longer.

Poached: In a skillet, add about 3-4 tablespoons of water with about 1/2 cup of compound butter you’ve cut into small pieces. Allow the butter to melt into the water, but don’t let it come to a boil. Gently place the lobster in the pan, turning them every minute or so until the meat is opaque or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
